Gatehouse Montessori

Our Story

Authentic Montessori
since 2017

Founded by Prem Lata, who has worked in Montessori education since 2009, Gatehouse opened its first centre in Hope Valley in 2017 and expanded to Rosewater in 2025.

Our beginnings

Gatehouse began with a simple idea: a Montessori classroom should feel calm, orderly and genuinely child-led, not just labelled that way. Hope Valley opened first in 2017 as a small, mixed-age room built around real Montessori materials rather than worksheets.

Prem Lata

Prem has worked in Montessori education since 2009 and leads Gatehouse's approach across both centres. Her focus has stayed the same throughout: observe each child closely, and let that observation, not a fixed program, guide what happens next in the classroom.

One approach, two centres

Hope Valley and Rosewater run the same Montessori foundations and the same standards of care, with each centre's own room, educators and daily rhythm suited to its age group and space.

Partnership with families

Parents as partners, not just observers

We work closely with families to build a warm, inclusive environment. Regular conversations, observation notes and open-door visits keep families involved in each child's day-to-day progress, not just at formal reviews.
